Initial Consultation

Understanding the perspective of the child, parents, teachers, and other influential people in the child’s life.
What is the child’s baseline needs and desires?

Video call to understand the child’s environment. What is the setting the child lives and works? Understand the context to tailor goals and intervention

Analysis of what has hindered achieving goals in the past. Addressing deficiencies in prior interventions.

Setting academic, social, emotional, and life skill goals. Prioritizing goals

Emphasizing child’s agency in goal setting. Taking the child’s lead in setting goals
Mentorship

45 minute sessions to set measurable, achievable goals accommodating for any challenges. Creating and visualizing how to take the steps to achieve the weekly goal.

15 minute check-in with parents each week to ensure consistency and assess progress towards weekly goal

Ongoing reassessment of progress towards goals, barriers encountered, and developing techniques to advance. Developing positive, constructive habits and routines.

Directly affirming self-esteem, motivation and passion. Separating results from self-esteem. Teaching how set-backs are opportunities to learn and do not define them. Focusing on what they can control.
